vgmusicologistPretty adorable little text micro-adventure. Initially I jumped straight in without reading anything about the game, so I mistakenly hunted for a hippo somewhere in the story. It wasn’t until I finished that I read the brief and realized that *I* was the hippo all along. I knew going in that the game was very short, but I would have liked just a teeny bit more narrative. There are three significant interactions you have with other entities, but they all end up being unrelated. Just when I was expecting some larger narrative element to tie these events together and give them all meaning…. the game ends. It left me with the feeling “well that was cute, but so what?” I didn’t need a great sprawling epic, just a little resolution to make me go “Ohhhhhhh!” instead of simply crawling back into my sock pile.
